DITCH resides since 2010 in the Dutch city of The Hague. Roaming the venues, playing their heavy stoner rock with influences from the likes of Fu Manchu, Slo Burn, Lowrider, Sasquatch, Kyuss, Greenleaf, Wet Cactus, a.o. The band has captured the grooves, the wall-of-sound, and the desert vibes from these bands, but added quite some original and fresh twists to their music, without losing the consistency and catchiness.
The band released their debut full-length album, “Boca do Inferno”, back in 2014, which resulted in a healthy interest and many live shows. But from 2016 till 2019 the band slipped into some kind of slumber.
During this period their space rock instrumental “One Way Trip to the Sun” became an unexpected cult YouTube hit. As opening track of a very popular compilation (9.3 million views) and as a separate upload (760,000 views) the song went “viral”, with many positive comments as a result. This also resulted in many Spotify plays (3.1 million streams) and people discovering the band and the debut album. A return of Ditch was imminent. In 2019 the band released a digital only EP called “Coldfoot, Alaska” to test the waters. There were many songs left from the period from 2014 till 2019, so the work started to compile and record another full-length album. The band entered the studio in the Summer of 2023 with engineer Hans Pieters (formerly of Excess Studios), and finished the mixing in March 2024.
“The Traveler” has turned out to be a heavy, groovy behemoth of an album, but also kept the core values of the band by being diverse, intense, and surprising. It makes the album original and attractive. Combining different approaches and different elements, not hiding away from bold decisions and interpretations that might not fall within the box or genre the band is mostly playing in, the album has become “one of a kind”. One that should appeal to a large group of listeners.
DITCH is a three piece band, formed by talented, experienced and road worn musicians. Building a live reputation for a long time (also with several other bands besides DITCH). Throughout their existence DITCH shared the stage with 1000Mods (GR), Baardvader (NL), The Grand Astoria (RU), Five Horse Johnson (USA), Komatsu (NL), Atomic Vulture (BE), Hemplifier (MT), Witch Piss (BE), Godsize (UK), Monster Truck (CAN), and many more.
